Healing Hands

I painted this piece during a live prayer and worship set in San Antonio, TX. The idea for the painting came to me when I meditated on this verse: "Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." John 7:38 NIV.

The image it brought to mind reminded me of my testimony about God's call to surrender my life fully to Jesus. I was searching for fulfillment in all the wrong places, just like the woman at the well in John 4. I was left feeling empty, dry, and burdened. However, just as Jesus met the woman at the well, He also met me where I was and offered me living water that has quenched my soul.

As we entrust our hearts into the caring hands of Jesus, He puts His spirit within us and He washes and purifies us continually and satisfies our deepest needs. My favorite part of this artwork is the golden song notes bursting from the top representing the worship that has sprung forth from the transformation that God has brought about within me.
